When you pray

By Apostle Frederick KC Price
Presiding Prelate, Crenshaw Christian Center

As children of God, we have the privilege of prayer. I believe that the highest form of prayer is the prayer of faith, or what is sometimes called petition prayer. This is asking Our Heavenly Father for a particular outcome or need, whether it is a job, a spouse, finances or something else. Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)

Yet I’m sure you know people who pray and do not receive what they ask for. Perhaps it has happened to you. Was Jesus mistaken? Not at all. The key to applying this verse is the expression “when you pray”. Jesus does say “after you pray”, “when you feel”, or “when you see”. He said “when you pray”. At the moment you offer the prayer of faith, you MUST believe that you receive what you asked for. God does not operate in the past or in the future, but in the present. At the precise time when you pray, you must believe that you have received what you asked for.

Notice that Mark 11:24 does not say when you actually see the result of your prayer. When you pray in faith, our Heavenly Father immediately gives you what you prayed for in the spirit realm. But in the natural world, it may take time for the answer to manifest itself. God answers your specific prayer in line with His Word, but it is your faith that brings that answer out of the spiritual realm into the physical world. If you do not have the faith to wait for the manifestation, He will not violate your will and do it for you, even if you say that is what you want and are praying for.

I have been teaching the Word for more than 40 years and the things that I thought back then are just as true today. Ever increasing Faith Ministries is dedicated to ministering the Word of God to your life and to reaching those around the world who have never heard the Good News.
